An Introduction from the Head Teacher

"I hope you will find this web site interesting and informative.  It is an accurate reflection of life in a thriving and happy school, which is popular and oversubscribed.  You will read about the practical ways in which we make the partnership with parents a reality.  Pupils are a vital part of that partnership and we expect them to take responsibility and show initiative. Together we build a firm foundation for effective teaching."

Ready for work - ready to learn.      Mr Joyce - Our Headteacher

Laptops are used in all curriculum subjects during all lessons...

"The school's success has been reflected in increased pupil numbers.  At the same time, the facilities at Copley High School have been updated and modernised.  An exciting part of the project is the Learning Resource Centre.  This is a library for the twenty first century with resources ranging from print, tape, satellite and video to intranet and internet access. This development lies at the heart of our plans for the future.   Young people increasingly need the skills of self-discipline, personal organisation, individual study and the ability to work as members of teams.  The Learning Resource Centre will help us to provide such opportunities.  The Centre is also  open to pupils outside lessons times and after school."

Mr J Joyce

Organisation of Copley High

Copley High School provides a secure, warm and friendly environment for our pupils.  The school has the advantage of being one large building with most classrooms on one level.  The school community takes great care of the building.  Most rooms are carpeted and we strive to maintain a high standard of care and cleanliness.  A high quality of display is a feature of the school, both in classrooms and corridors.

Statements of aims in school brochures can often be no more than fine-sounding words. The Copley aims, produced and developed by our staff, are meant to be practical and constructive. They are aims to be used. Our aims are referred to constantly in planning for the future.  They demonstrate our belief that a school should actively promote positive moral values in everything it does. The emphasis on the quality of everyday experiences at Copley is the necessary foundation for achievement - in public examinations and in the development of responsible and active young people.

Navigation of the school website is defined by using navigation buttons on the left-hand side of the page and the links to associated pages at the end of each web page.
