Music Music is taught in two specialist rooms. Both are equipped with a large number of electronic keyboards. Both rooms have computer workstations for composition. There is also a good range of tuned and un-tuned percussion. There are two practice rooms and a recording studio which allows groups to work outside the classroom. The emphasis in music is on listening, composition and performance. At Copley every pupil is given the opportunity to learn an instrument or join the choir. We have a small supply of instruments in school for loan, and can give details for hiring instruments from music shops. lessons are provided in the following instruments; string instruments, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard, piano and singing. Over the past few years this service has expanded rapidly and at present we have over 120 instrumentalists making use of the service. Further details can be obtained by contacting the Music Department at school. |
