Stalybridge Town Crest - The Motto means 'Nothing without Labour'

Key Stage 4

A class using the Intellidesk Suite

In the final two years (Key Stage Four), we have a core curriculum consisting of English, Maths, Science, ICT, Physical Education, Religious Education, Careers and Life Studies. Citizenship is taught through Life Studies and is also a strand in all other subjects. There are a range of optional subjects available to pupils including French, German, History, Geography, Design & Technology, Art, Music and Drama - the choice has also recently been expanded to include different combinations of Science courses, applied GCSE in Art & Design, The Diploma in ICT Digital Applications and BTEC Skills for Working Life and Vocational Preparation courses.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is available to older pupils.

We constantly review our curriculum to ensure that it provides the best opportunities for all pupils.

At Key Stage 4, all pupils follow a GCSE short course in Religious Studies. Pupils also attend regular assemblies. Parents who wish their child to be excused from these lessons or assemblies should write to the Head Teacher.
