Internet access is via a broadband 10mb fibre optic link connection and Unix server and is available across the network. Copley also has a developing Intranet and Virtual Learning Platform which includes materials from all curriculum areas. In addition there are 34 workstations in the Learning Resource Centre which provide a valuable resource in the development of ICT across the curriculum. There are also mini suites of computers in several curriculum areas for example Science, Music, Learning Support Unit, Geography and Art. All pupils and staff have an e-mail account which may be accessed form home or school. The school is also committed to providing all staff with their own laptop. All pupils in Years 7 , 8 and 9 follow a course in discrete ICT, the course is currently delivered by the ICT Coordinator, ICT teacher and a small number of non specialist staff. Pupils make extensive use of the ICT facilities at lunchtimes and the LRC is open before and after school. The ICT facilities are also used extensively for adult education courses in the evenings.
